A recent report said the demand will increase slightly next year while supply (outside OPEC) may lag.

Given the upstream activities, it is safe to assume oil will likely stay above $70 for most of the time in the next year or two.

黄金可能不一样啊，炒再高也不会对大家的生活有影响，对回收美元还有利。现在失业率还没下来， 石油影响太广，再往上炒，窃以为风险太大，尤其是大资金

CFTC 2009年已经严格限定了Crude Oil Futures 交易的持仓规模限制，要求了很多申报规定，严查了几个原油投机商。 所以，原油再想风一吹就大，不那么容易了。

贵金属、基本金属就不同了，最大的用户和买家都不是美国经济体，把通货膨胀引到这里，对美国的影响比原油价格相对轻很多。 所以，美国当局是把投机和通胀赶到这里了。

但整个图7月后是个终结上升三角， 还有上升空间。 然后估计就跳水了。

Fed already hinted today unemployment rate might have peaked..or very close. If oil stay as is, other commodities won't fly too much, then who stands to benefit the most? You got it, China. China will have ample time to diversify into commodity investments...

What is US biggest goal at this stage in regards to China? RMB appreciation. Inflated commodity price can help achieve this goal easier and quicker. At the back of my mind, I think they are eyeing China as the next southeast Asia - and are preparing all the ingredients to cook the China Crisis down the road.
