1) Is seeing a financial adviser a bad thing? NO, absolute not.

2) Can financial adviser be a friend? No, unless you are NOT planning to do business with him/her, for listening to his/her story  purposes only.

Don't do business with a friend, you may lose both your money and friend

3) Can financial adviser be a Chinese? Yes, if he/she works for a reputable financial institution. Do NOT do business with independent Chinese financial firms, especially extraordinary high return ones.  

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

4) What do I need to know before I go to see a financial adviser?


a) Don't bring your check book with you!!!!
b) Never sign anything before you leave!!
c) Listen and learn as much as you can, bring their brochure home and read carefully!
d) If you have any doubt or questions, bring them here and ask!

2） 发现收益特别高的有关财经广告
3） 剪下该广告，注明日期，保存好
4） 如果有时间，去见他们，看有多美好，但是绝对不要带支票本，绝对不要签任何东东。（没时间，不坚定·就不要去）
5) 过几个月或大半年，再到报纸上找该广告，多数找不到了
6） 打电话给他们，按原广告上电话号码，基本上不是空号就是错号。

这些骗局常常和美国 Madoff Scandal 庞氏骗局极其类似。开头收益特高，您甚至需要开后门找熟人才能进入。

受骗者前赴后继，不计其数。

华人受骗后觉得丢人，不愿告诉别人。更有甚者，还有人希望骗子继续行骗他人，好让自己的钱回收。

骗子已经逃之夭夭，多数已离境，报警也没有用；而且多数手续不全，证据不足。

虽然这种骗局几乎每天都在发生，当地主流社区报纸很少报道华人社区骗局。

一个例外，大约20年前，洛杉矶一家华人银行特大代抄外汇骗局，轰动了美国主流媒体。
