美国最高法院裁定“白人遭歧视” 将影响美国社会

　据美联社等媒体报道，美国最高法院6月30日裁定一批通过考核的白人消防员不获晋升违反民权法，“歧视白人”。这批消防员包括19名白人和一名拉美裔人。有分析人士指出，此案的判决将深刻影响美国社会。  

　　康涅狄格州纽黑文市消防局于2003年进行一项考核，以评核消防员的晋升资格，当年参加考核的消防员中，只有白人消防员考获符合晋升资格的分数，纽黑文市当局基于没有黑人消防员考取足够分数晋升，否决该项考核结果。  

　　最高法院以5对4票推翻了这项考核结果。最高大法官罗伯特宣读判决时表示，纽黑文市之所以否决考核结果，唯一原因只是取得较高分的消防员都是白人。他认为这不能作为合理解释。  

　　最高法院下令纽黑文市当局必须承认该项考核结果。对这项裁决，美国各界反应不一。有人忧虑者会影响拉美裔索托马约的最高法院法官任命。

(ZT) I listened to the case on NPR. Looks like the city got sued several times in the past by the blacks and they lost the cases. So this time they voided the test results but got sued again by the whites! And they LOST AGAIN! LOL... The test was said to have 60% of multiple choices, which is the part that the blacks wouldn't score high. The whites said they got high scores because of their hard work - tons of flash cards and paid tutors etc... It was unfair to void the results that reflected their hard work.
