I heard this morning in CNBC regarding market up on thin volume, think it makes some sense:
Basically, the guy (forgot his name) says that this is normal on a very low VIX. Market keeps creeping up on thin volume is because of low volatility. Why? He said, since there are around 60% tradings are done by non-human mechanical systems (something like that) that mainly are based on catching on the price fluctuation and with such low volatility there is not much the mechanical trading can do. This may also explains why sometimes TA won't work very well. |
