说说你熟悉的行业的行情。
Hi-tech/semicon, engineer payment ceiling around 120k nationwide (was higher but these years, you know…) unless management position (100k ~120k, could be 140k).
Boston and Bay areas, living costs are highest, 120~ 130k for an experienced engineer. But same person could be paid only $100k or less at Florida, Texas, Oregon, Arizona, …
To save cost, USA big hi-tech companies are: 1. moving offshore. 2. Moving into states at lower living costs.
For example, Intel headquarter is still at California. But its main Fab is running at Oregon (ironically, engineer with 60k at Oregon can live in a nice house while engineer with 110k at Bay area still live in an apartment). Intel is opening a new R&D center at Oregon.
Hence, 普林斯顿化学博士毕业,起薪十万五千美金 is a nice offer. |
