名校申请的误区（3）

参加很多课外活动小组，多得申请表都填不下，却没有一项突出的。

高中生如果仅仅修课，应该不会太辛苦。但是课外兴趣活动club却要占据大量的时间，少的一两个，多的3-5个。例如 math club, science Olympiad , model of UN, speech, debate, academic bowl...五花八门，实在太多了。每个club 都有各种活动，比赛等。这是非常好的培养兴趣，锻炼能力的途径，也可以通过各种竞赛获奖。

参加的兴趣活动太多，时间上安排不过来，疲于奔命，结果一样都做不好。招生人员不是看你列出一长串的活动，而是看你在某项活动中的投入程度，对CLUB的影响以及取得的收获成就。

申请表里问你，参加过什么兴趣小组，你最喜爱的是哪一个？为什么？如果在你最喜欢的一项都不出色，要想以量取胜是比较困难的。

MIT alumni interview I attended(not for me) was all about 课外兴趣活动, from grade 9 up to the interview, including all activities such as even a few hours. This interview did not cover any school  activities,which should be  presented from school counselor reports and teacher's ROLs.

eng, my present 课外活动 is hutong. 培养炒股兴趣，锻炼炒股能力

interview may not be as important as we thought. It is optional. Many kids were accepted without being interviewed. Of course , one should not miss this opportunity to show own strength and to know school better.
MIT interview style is a little different from other school' s , which may scare away many good candidates, while other IVY alumni always try to attract applicants to their schools.

所以你一下子就stand out 了。说明你有passion and dedication, 如果你能秀一下账户，就能显出取得的成就，学校看的是你未来的潜力。
其他人天天端茶倒水拖地板再辛苦也没用。
