英特尔 传裁员数千人

全球芯片大厂英特尔将在19日发布财报，美国OregonLive网站报导，该公司传出今年春季启动裁员数千人的计画，有些业务部门裁员比率甚至来到两位数。对此，英特尔台湾办公室不予置评。

英特尔日前已宣布，即将有两名高阶主管离职。OregonLive则报导指出，英特尔这回裁员可能也包括高阶主管，整体裁员规模将超过去年的1,100人。

OregonLive报导指出，英特尔将在19日发布第1季财报，之后很快就会启动裁员计画，年底前可能裁减数千人，涉及各大部门。截至去年底，英特尔员工总人数为10万7,300人。

目前英特尔尚未对内或对外发布裁员消息，上周各大媒体数度求证，英特尔也不予置评，台湾分公司对此亦不予置评。

英特尔曾在2014年表示，全球总人力拟缩减5%，相当于5,000多名员工的饭碗不保。

英特尔身为全球半导体龙头，但近年遭遇核心战场PC市场欲振乏力，新切入的平板计算机、手机等移动通信领域又不顺利，成为两大营运瓶颈。

这几年，PC供应链年年苦等换机潮，英特尔早于前两年即已统计，全球有超过5亿台计算机已使用四、五年以上，这些旧计算机不仅要花很长的时间开机，电池也很快耗尽电力，当时即希望能驱动消费者换机，但即使让XP操作系统正式退役，换机效应仍然有限。

眼见PC市场逐年微幅衰退，英特尔前几年开始积极卡位智能机、平板计算机等移动通信市场，虽然先以平板计算机切入，可是2014年烧了42.1亿美元、去年不再补贴、加上平板计算机同样步入衰退后，也不再成为英特尔的重点。

street 上裁员不断。经济应该没有好转而在恶化。 中长期来说，股市应该走低。当然FED可以再砸钱。

my boss just let go this morning after 18 yr work for the company by the new CTO who joiin less than a year.
only get 3 month pay.

now, I have to be careful......

What?! Only 3 months pay? Ontario law here says 1 year equals to 2 to 8 weeks, so 18 years should be at least 36 weeks which is roughly 9 months. Your boss shouldn't sign the pink sheet, he can go to court for this. The package HR offers can be negotiated, it's not the final offer!

yes, though I am still work in corporate company, but they never "royal" to you. And if your number is called it is called. And it is not based on seniority or performance.

So always plan for some back up plan. And best of good luck to you!

when did they change to 2-8 weeks?! i thought it is always 1 week. At least that is when I was there 15 year ago.
