Planning to buy some calls within an hour or two to hold over weekend (maybe).... Not a big amount, maybe ~50 calls.

Already sold my 50 puts this morning with very good returns, while my 50 calls carries few pennies at this moment.

bounce is due to the short profit taking for the weekends.  Not a sign of anyone buying into the market.  I will short any bounce from here.  Keep it easy:)

I'm still here on and off to check some LAODA posts, but I stay silence due to a) too many experts on here which freaks me out and hence, I decided to watch and learn; and b) I trade less and less and hence, I don't sit in front of my computers for the whole day anymore.

I guess you & Lite1067 made some nice gains with your trades today?  Well, we were in the same boat.  I recognized a reliable setup yesterday, which I bought some sizable CALLs (not at the lowest entry point which Lite1067 entered) and sold this morning.  Below is the screenshot.

I bought my CALLs earlier yesterday morning and then, I noticed some big losses by market close (my entry point and market close level were very close).  I only gained ~25% instead of >50% as during the past.

Since I'm not an expert with options stuff, do you have any idea what was going on?  I guess it had to do with a drop in supply & demand????

老大！ glad to hear from you !!! Yesterday I didn't enter at the lowest point. I almost never did that .... I entered when SPX dropped around 30 pts... Yesterday at close SPX dropped 36 pts....


In the past three trading days, options are not as good vehicle as before while IV dropped so much.

ohh....  I've a feeling (based on your previous posts) that you have much better signals than mine to recognize those highly profitable trades at early stage, which I still have to wait for mine to show up.

Thanks for quick explanation about IV thing:)  I'll google it up later.

Btw, I think the way you choose strikes is brilliant... I didn't like trading options until I saw your trades. Very insightful...


When IV drops so fast (especially when the price difference between VIX spot and near-expiring futures is so big as it was in last Friday and Monday), long options is really not the best strategy. Shorting options for DT might be more profitable, but unfortunately my broker demands huge margins requirements for writing options.

Yesterday was a big down day， of course Call lost its value very quick.
So I only bought little bite Call yesterday, insterd, I bought XIV X 2000 shares yesterday, made $ today.
I will play Calls for 7/4th fire work. Look forward for it. lets discuss how and when to enter the call.

I just showed a chart under Cobra thread: 06/28/2016 Live Update, which seem to align with your view.  However, my hands are off the table for now as I don't see any great opportunity to trade.

昨天在2000附近，根本就没有形成一个强有力的反弹，因为1F和5F走没有在这里做W，后来到1990出现W。买OPTION最好在第二次回踩的时候反弹买，回踩颈线不漏也是个不错的买点！
