If they keep it up long enough, then enough people would go back in and turn it into the real thing.

Totally agree.  If you look at past few weeks, you will see big volumes coming at the end of each day.  It does look very fishy.  .........  I suspect some small fish is jumping in to at least catch this wave.

We are not even fish, may be shrimp or seaweed.  Small fish is also institution but not big or mega ones.

It's not a surprise to see. Insitituations are always the major players in this market. If you see big drop, you can see they are selling, and if you see big rally, it's for sure they are buying.

Not all the  institutions are on the same page, so some are making big money, while some are losing big.

The question is, whether those who sold heavily before this rally did the worst thing they could, or those who are buying fiercely right now are making a big mistake?

I don't know. perhap both can be true, depends on their next trade action and where market goes.

Of course, some may making money in both direction, but they are always minority.

From this money flow table, it looks like that 04/09 is a big distribution day.   Do you have a tracking of their money flow?
But it could also be interpreted as bears are shorting the market a big time but still could not keep bull heads down.

CNBC Fast Money's Jon Najarian (from Options Monsters) says that institutions are buying a lot on Thursday afternoon, and, in order to catch up with the rally, institutions are buying a lot of calls. This guy has some credibility. He called buying FAS since March's low and still holds it. Also consider the OE of next week, calls are relatively cheap. Would you comment on all these? Thanks a lot for your insight.

Only 5 days before Apr option expires...after Thursday's huge gap up on financial those calls are not cheap anymore but who knows if they still have room to move up or not before OE??
