Chile

Two churches were torched as tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered to mark the anniversary of a protest movement that broke out last year demanding greater equality in Chile. The demonstration comes just a week before Chileans vote in a referendum on whether to replace the dictatorship-era constitution, one of the key demands of the protest movement.

Los Angeles tried banning trick-or-treating this year and putting the kibosh on Halloween parties and carnivals and haunted houses, as well. These hyper-realistic baby dolls are acting as surrogates for some Iranian families who are apprehensive about having more children.

Twenty-four-year-old Maryam Aghayee first started designing these dolls as a hobby, carefully colouring in the silicone baby's face and dressing it to make it look as life-like as possible.

But after completing her second Reborn baby doll, the orders started to roll in.
