Click left and right "buttons" at the same time, if u can. This works on UNIX as the paste, which is equivalent to "mid' button.

That is not true. Apps of E-trade and IB work pretty good on my Macbook Pro.
Actually they are on java-platform and theoretically should work on Linux, too.

I think you could set up the touch pad's four corners to do various things, I assume that include middle click.
