The success secret of Apple is to make "affordable fashion." If it is too expensive, profit margin will be high but the aggregate profit will get hurt. If it is too competitive in pricing, it will lose the appeal of "fashion." Since its position is "fashion," not "mass production," its market share will never be as huge as Microsoft's windows, or even close to it. When its market share reaches certain level, it needs to introduce new products. If the new products are popular, there will be another "phenomenum," if not, it will go into silience for some period of time. |
