Re: Nikon D5000 or D90

I would consider myself as an ametuer level photographer, I am planning to buy a digital SLR camera. I am narrowing the options down to D5000 and D90. For HT pros, any suggestions as to which camera and lens I should get. these two cameras typically come with 18-55mm, 55-200mm, or 18-105mm VR lens. Costco offers D90 comes with 18-55mm, and 70-300 mm lens.
Any suggestion is highlt appreciated!

I have been using Canon camera (not DSLR though), and decided to switch to Nikon. Any comments on the lens? I like the 18-200mm VR lens, but it barely comes with D90, and I have to pay $750 to get one separately.....

1. lightweight and cheap: 18-105mm VR or 18-200mm VR
2. costly and heavy: 17-55mm f2.8 (dx) or 17-35mm f2.8 (fx) and 70-200mm f2.8 VR (II)

18-200 mm  is not cheap for me at all, it is above $700. :( 18-105mm is cheap for me, maybe I should just go for 18-105mm at this time, and purchased better lens along the road, what do you think? Thanks!

no worry, good enough for beginner. You can buy expensive lenses if you do like shooting in the future.
